Similar to how some of the best hospitals in the world are teaching hospitals, Good Heart Recovery is a teaching treatment center. Utilizing the most innovative and intimate teaching methods, we work with Master’s and Doctoral-level students to further advance the overall clinical abilities of the therapeutic field. Using best practices and one of a kind associate traineeship protocols, the Santa Barbara therapeutic community acknowledges Good Heart as a highly sought after site to gain clinical hours in the field of mental health and addiction.
WORK TOWARDS HOURS
At Good Heart Recovery, trainees can gain up to their full 1,300 hours of direct and non-direct clinical hours in one year during their graduate program.

ENGAGED TRAINING SITE
All of our students and associates meet monthly with our three clinical co-founders, who are all clinicians holding various degrees, in addition to their general supervision requirements for their program and the Board of Behavioral Sciences. Each of these three individuals also serves as CEO, Clinical Director, and Spiritual Director of Good Heart Recovery.
