Clinical and Counseling Psychology Training

Similar to how some of the best hospitals in the world are teaching hospitals, Good Heart Recovery is a teaching treatment center. Utilizing the most innovative and intimate teaching methods, we work with Master’s and Doctoral-level students to further advance the overall clinical abilities of the therapeutic field. Using best practices and one of a kind associate traineeship protocols, the Santa Barbara therapeutic community acknowledges Good Heart as a highly sought after site to gain clinical hours in the field of mental health and addiction.

WORK TOWARDS HOURS

At Good Heart Recovery, trainees can gain up to their full 1,300 hours of direct and non-direct clinical hours in one year during their graduate program.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION

We offer several types of clinical supervision including group, individual and triadic every week.

“My clinical training at Good Heart Recovery has exceeded my expectations in many ways. The support I feel is unwavering through all the growth it takes to become a clinician, especially in the field of recovery. I feel I am encouraged to authentically be myself while I do my work, which is incredibly valuable. My training also teaches me important lessons about working as part of a team for the benefit of all the clients under our care. It is nothing short of remarkable.”
